The Westport Historical Society celebrates and commemorates the 19th Century when Americans journeyed West to chase their dream. Many chose the town of Westport as the point where they "jumped off" onto the trails and into the great American Wilderness. We are a Freedom's Frontier Star Partner & Part of The Historic Santa Fe Trail!

The 1855 Harris-Kearney House Museum and the Westport Historical Society are proud to announce that the museum is now designated as a national BLUE STAR MUSEUM.
Blue Star Museums is collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America. The program starts on Memorial Day (Monday May 26, 2014) and runs through Labor Day (Monday, September 1, 2014). This is an opportunity to say “thank you” to our military community.
