The Quarterly Luncheon Information:
Location: McCoy's in Westport, 424 Westport Road Time: Social meeting is at 12:00 Noon and the Luncheon is at 12:30pm. The luncheon is at 12:30pm followed by a short business meeting. The afternoon's program will be presented by Society member Paul Kirkman. Paul, a professional entertainer for over 25 years, will discuss the SOCIAL OUTLAWS AND NOTORIOUS PERSONS OF THE MISSOURI-KANSAS BORDER AREA, 1860-1880. "Several infamous characters lived in Missouri during the mid to late nineteenth century including Belle Starr, William Quantrill, Bloody Bill Anderson, Frank and Jesse James, Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp and many more. Many of their crimes or sensational activities became legend and were later featured in film and television. Learn what forces, political or personal, drove these Missourians to the spotlight." Paul graduated from Columbia College with a B.A. in History. He performs a number of educational and entertaining programs for the Mid-Continent Public Libraries. Paul also co-authored the book LOCKDOWN: OUTLAWS, LAWMEN AND FRONTIER JUSTICE IN JACKSON COUNTY MISSOURI with author David Jackson.
